Lot #133011
This 1961 Austin-Healey 3000 BT7 Mk I is finished in black over black leather upholstery and is powered by a 2.9-liter inline-six equipped with dual SU carburetors and paired with a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Additional equipment includes a white vinyl soft top, chrome bumpers with overriders, headlight guards, driving lights, dual side mirrors, a Lecarra steering wheel, rack and pinion steering, a stainless steel exhaust system, front disc brakes, and polished 15” knock-off wire wheels. The car was recently acquired by the selling dealer in Pennsylvania after residing with the previous owner for 13 years. The tires were replaced, the brakes were bled, and an oil change was performed in anticipation of the sale. This 3000 is now offered with a tonneau cover, a jack, a knock-off hammer, an owner’s handbook, and a Pennsylvania title.
The bodywork is finished in black, and exterior features include a white vinyl soft top, driving lights, headlight guards, fender-mounted Raydot-style side-view mirrors, and chrome bumpers and trim. A blemish is noted on the body panel behind the front bumper, paint runs are showing on the rocker panels, and blemishes are present on the doors. A tonneau cover is included in the sale.
Chrome-finished 15” wire wheels secured by two-eared knock-offs and mounted with 165-series Vredestein Sprint Classic tires that show 2023 production date codes. An older spare tire on a wire wheel is stored in the trunk. A rack and pinion steering assembly has been installed. Stopping power is provided by disc brakes up front and drums out back, and the system was bled in anticipation of the sale.
The seats were reupholstered in black leather with white piping, and equipment includes a dash-mounted rearview mirror, a wood shift knob, and a passenger grab handle. A turn signal switch is located in the center of the dash.
The wood-rimmed Lecarra steering wheel fronts Smiths gauges consisting of a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 5,250-rpm redline, a fuel gauge, and a combination gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 33k miles, and the total mileage is unknown.
The 2,912cc C-series inline-six is said to have been rebuilt around 2015 and is equipped with dual SU carburetors. An Intermotor Sports Coil has been added along with a stainless steel exhaust system. An oil change was performed in anticipation of the sale.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive.
A driver’s handbook is included in the sale along with a knock-off hammer, jack, and car show awards.
Bid to $40,000 on 1/10/24
