This 1961 Austin-Healey 3000 BT7 Mk I was built in October 1960 and was delivered new to Dusseldorf, Germany. The seller purchased the car in western New York in 2014 from the estate of a person who is said to have parked the 3000 in a garage in 1971 and left it unused since that time. A subsequent refurbishment that was completed in 2017 involved repainting the body in blue and white, reupholstering the interior in blue leather, rebuilding the dual SU carburetors, and overhauling the brakes, suspension, and wheels as well as replacing the wiring harness, cylinder-head gasket, water pump, engine mounts, and clutch parts. The vehicle is powered by a 2.9-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Other features include a black soft top, 15″ knock-off wire wheels, front disc brakes, a Tourist Trophy wood-rimmed steering wheel, and front lap belts. The seller tells us that the car mostly has been garaged and unused since mid-2020. This big Healey is now offered with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, a removable hardtop, spare parts, and a California title in the seller’s name.
