ARTCURIAL AUCTION
Sale Automobiles sur les Champs 12 - April 08, 2018 / Lot 77 1961 Austin Healey 3000 Mk II BT7
Canadian title, EU customs cleared
Chassis HBT7L / 14424
- One owner since new
- Professional restoration with complete file
- Rare model with 3 carburetors
The presented on offer, delivered new in Montreal is a one owner example! It is a rare Mk II BT7 with 3 carburetors. The folder that comes with the car contains the rare factory "Windscreen card" on which all the information regarding the manufacturing of the car is noted, as well as the purchase invoice of the garage in Quebec that sold the car to Mr. Florent Belair on 4 August 1961, the warranty certificate, the insurance policy and an invoice folder. This Healey was completely restored and the body was stripped to bare metal (see photos), the upholstery is in beige leather and the top in Alpaca canvas. The rear suspension of the BJ8 phase 2 has been installed to improve ground clearance, which was too low in the original setting. An aluminum radiator was installed as well as 72 spokes chromed wire wheels. A carrier is screwed on to the trunk lid so that a suitcase can be carried. This model represents the best compromise of a British roadster that is reliable, yet powerful and sporty. It was used by Polish F1 driver Robert Kubica during a parade at the Canadian grand prix.
Estimated 50 000 - 70 000 €
