This 1962 Austin-Healey 3000 is a right-hand drive MKII roadster that was reportedly modified for vintage racing over three decades ago by Tsikuris Classics in Lakeland, Florida. The car is finished in red over black leather, and power comes from a modified 2.9-liter inline-six equipped with three SU carburetors and mated to a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive and a limited slip differential. Equipment includes a roll bar, fire suppression system, side-exit exhaust, 15″ center-lock wheels, vented front fenders and hood, low-back bucket seats, a Monza-style fuel cap, front driving lights, and a Fuel Safe fuel tank mounted in the trunk. This BT7 is offered by the selling dealer in California with a white hard top, side curtains, manufacturer’s literature, and a clean Nevada title.
The aluminum body was repainted in its current shade of red during previous ownership. Exterior features include a modified rear decklid, vented front fenders, chrome rear bumperettes, driving lights, a vented hood secured with a strap, #5 roundel graphics, and dual-outlet side-exit exhaust. A white hard top and side curtains are included in the sale.
Silver 15″ Minilite-style center-lock wheels wear 185/70 BFGoodrich Comp T/A R1 tires, and a matching spare is mounted in the rear of the cabin. Braking is handled by MKIII-sourced front and Jaguar XJ6-sourced rear discs. The suspension has been modified with stiffer bushings and damper valves, along with an aftermarket rear sway bar.
The right-hand drive interior features low-back bucket seats trimmed in black leather with red piping and equipped with Crow Enterprizes four-point harnesses for the driver. The rear seats have been removed, and a roll bar has been installed. Additional equipment includes a fire suppression system, rubber floor mats, and a chrome passenger-grab handle.
A three spoke wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 140-mph speedometer, a rotated 7k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges measuring oil pressure and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows three miles, though true mileage is unknown.
The 2.9-liter inline-six is fed by triple SU carburetors and was reportedly modified with forged pistons and reshaped combustion chambers around 1989. Additional equipment includes a polished valve cover and carburetor bodies, Lucas ignition, and stainless-steel intake manifold and exhaust headers.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission fitted with straight-cut gears and equipped with electronic overdrive. The rear axle was reportedly sourced from a 3000 MKIII and is equipped with a limited-slip differential with a 4.10:1 gear ratio.
