This 1962 Austin-Healey 3000 BT7 MkII is a left-hand-drive four-seat roadster that was acquired by the seller in 1985. Subsequent refurbishment work was performed in the early 1990s, after which it was placed into long-term storage beginning in the mid-2010s. Finished in red over black upholstery, the car is powered by a 2.9-liter inline-six equipped with triple SU carburetors and mated to a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Additional equipment includes an aluminum radiator, 15″ knock-off wire wheels, front disc brakes, driving lamps, a rear luggage rack, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and a Sony CD stereo. This BT7 is now offered with refurbishment photos, a hardtop, side curtains, spare wheels, and a clean Washington title in the seller’s name.
The car underwent rust repair prior to being repainted in its current shade of red in the early 1990s. Driving lamps are affixed to the badge bar, and further exterior details include a black tonneau cover, a hood scoop, wind wings, fender-mounted side mirrors, a rear luggage rack, and twin exhaust tips.
Chrome-finished 15″ wire wheels are secured via knock-off hubs and mounted with older all-season tires that measure 165/60. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums.
The 2+2 cabin features front bucket seats trimmed in black leather with red piping accompanied by color-coordinated rear seats, door panels, and carpets. Appointments include a Smiths heater, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, a passenger grab handle, a wood shift knob, and a Sony CD stereo.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer has rolled over and shows 50k miles. Approximately 60k miles have been added under current ownership.
The 2.9-liter inline-six is equipped with triple SU carburetors. A Wizard Cooling aluminum radiator has been installed, and the seller notes that the cooling system was overhauled in 2015.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive.
A removable hard top, a pair of side curtains, and a set of four wire wheels with tires will accompany the vehicle.
