Auction description:
Saturday 4th & Sunday 5th November
1961 AUSTIN HEALEY 3000 BT7 MKII ROADSTER
Estimate: £28,000 - £34,000
V5 present
MoT exempt
Chassis number: HBT7L14638
Built in 1961, this Austin-Healey 3000 MkII has come from a deceased estate, and was initially exported to Toronto, Canada, when new. It returned to the UK 30 years later, being registered here in December 1992, after being restored over 1990/91. It now shows 92,127 miles on its odometer; its last MoT expired in May 2019 after having been tested the previous year at an indicated 91,496 miles. However, as an historic vehicle, the Austin-Healey no longer requires annual testing. The car is described as running and driving well, albeit with sticky brakes from lack of use, as it has been little used over the past few years. Work since its last owner bought it in 2011 has included an engine overhaul, unleaded conversion, Poly suspension bushes fitted all around, and carburettors refurbished and balanced. Two registered keepers are recorded on the V5C since the car's re-import into the UK.
Paperwork with the Austin-Healey includes the V5C, BMIHT Heritage Certificate, driver's handbook, plus a large history file with invoices, MoT certificates, photos and correspondence with the previous owner.
