This 1962 Austin-Healey 3000 BT7 Mk II underwent refurbishment work prior to the seller’s 2008 acquisition, and work performed since 2020 has involved replacing the triple SU carburetors for the 2.9-liter inline-six in addition to replacing the fuel pump and starter solenoid, rebuilding the generator, and refurbishing the intake and exhaust manifolds. The engine is backed by a four-speed manual transmission. Finished in red over black upholstery with red piping, the car is equipped with a black soft top and tonneau cover, 15″ knock-off wire wheels, front disc brakes, detachable side windows, and a cabin heater. This 3000 Mk II is now offered with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, service records, spare parts, and a clean Kentucky title in the seller’s name.
The car was finished from the factory in Colorado Red (RD2) and is equipped with a black soft top, a tonneau cover, and detachable side windows as well as a hood scoop, bright trim, and chrome bumpers with overriders. There is a tear in the soft top.
The 15″ knock-off wire wheels are mounted with Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. The wheels were refurbished in 2022.
The 2+2 cabin features bucket seats trimmed in black leather with red piping, and interior appointments include a cabin heater, door storage pockets, and a dashboard-mounted mirror.
The banjo-style steering wheel wears an aftermarket wrap and sits ahead of Smiths white-dial instrumentation consisting of a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. An ammeter is mounted below the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 38k miles, approximately 5k of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 2.9-liter inline-six is a replacement that is equipped with triple SU carburetors, which were replaced in 2021. An SU fuel pump was also installed at that time, and other work since 2020 has included replacing the starter solenoid, rebuilding the generator, and refurbishing the intake and exhaust manifolds. Photos of identification numbers are provided in the gallery below.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. The overdrive does not work. A replacement exhaust system was installed in 2008.
The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate shows production information and identification numbers.
Service records are included in the sale.
The current Kentucky title carries a “Not Actual Mileage” brand.
