This 1962 Austin-Healey 3000 BT7 Mk II is said to have remained with the family of the original owner until the seller’s acquisition in 2021. Finished in black over red upholstery, the car is powered by a 2.9-liter inline-six fitted with triple SU carburetors and linked with a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. It is further equipped with 15″ knock-off wire wheels, a Brittanicar rack-and-pinion steering setup, and a Moto-Lita steering wheel as well as a removable black soft top, tonneau cover, and side curtains. This 3000 Mk II is now offered with spare parts and an Oklahoma title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in black and features a removable black soft top and tonneau cover. A hood scoop, fender-mounted mirrors, and chrome bumpers with overriders are additional details.
The 15″ wire wheels are secured with two-ear knock-offs and mounted with Vredestein tires, while braking is handled by front discs and rear drums. The seller tells us that the wheels and tires were changed and the brakes and shocks were serviced prior to their acquisition. A Brittanicar rack-and-pinion steering setup was added following their acquisition.
The 2+2 cabin features bucket seats trimmed in red upholstery with black piping accompanied by a color-coordinated dash, door panels, front lap belts, and carpets. Further interior appointments include a Motorola push-button AM radio, a dash-mounted mirror, a passenger-side grab handle, and door storage pockets.
The wood-rimmed Moto-Lita steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, a fuel-level gauge, and a combination gauge displaying oil pressure and water temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 22k miles, approximately 250 of which were added under current ownership.
The 2.9-liter inline-six featured triple SU HS4 carburetors from the factory for a rating of 136 horsepower and 167 lb-ft of torque. The seller tells us that a tune-up was performed prior to their acquisition of the car.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with Laycock de Normanville electric overdrive. The exhaust system is finished in red.
A set of side curtains will accompany the car along with an SU carburetor tuning kit, the removed steering wheel and column, and other parts that can be viewed in the gallery.
The current Oklahoma title carries a “Classic” brand.
