This 1960 Austin-Healey 3000 BT7 Mk1 was modified around a decade ago with a 302ci Ford V8 and a Tremec five-speed manual transmission. The car is finished in red over black vinyl and fabric upholstery, and equipment includes a Weber carburetor, Edelbrock intake manifold, black soft top, side-exit exhaust pipes, front disc brakes, and chrome knock-off wire wheels. Work in 2022 consisted of a refresh of the brakes and replacement of the fuel tank, thermostat and housing, brake master cylinder, and carpeting. This 3000 BT7 was acquired by the seller approximately a year ago and is now being offered with service records beginning in 2004, removable side curtains, and a clean Arizona title in the name of the seller’s LLC.
The bodywork is finished in red, and exterior features include a black soft top and boot cover, side-exit exhaust pipes, a Raydyot driver’s side-view mirror, and chrome bumpers and trim. A pair of removable side curtains accompany the vehicle. The seller notes that the paint has been touched-up and wet-sanded in preparation for the sale.
Replacement chrome wire wheels are secured by knock-off spinners and mounted with mismatched tires. A full-size spare is found in the trunk. Braking is through front discs and rear drums. The brakes were refreshed in 2022, including replacement of the master cylinder, rotors, drums, calipers, and wheel cylinders.
The cabin houses bucket seats that are trimmed in black vinyl with fabric inserts and equipped with red lap belts. Insulation was added to the floors and a replacement carpet kit was installed in 2022. A crack is present in the binnacle for the heater controls.
A leather-wrapped Lecarra steering wheel sits ahead of TPI-Tech gauges that include an 8k-rpm tachometer, a 140-mph speedometer, and auxiliary displays. The five-digit odometer has reportedly rolled over during current ownership and shows approximately 100 miles. Around 800 miles were added by the seller, though total mileage is unknown.
The 302ci Ford V8 is said to have been installed around a decade ago and is topped by a Weber carburetor mounted on an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake manifold. The radiator was re-cored and fitted with an electric fan in 2016, while work in 2022 included replacing the fuel tank, thermostat, thermostat housing, and radiator bypass hose. The seller notes that fluid changes were performed and the spark plugs and wires were replaced in September 2022.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Tremec five-speed manual transmission.
