This 1959 Austin-Healey 3000 BT7 reportedly was purchased by the seller in 1996 as a project in need of restoration. It was refurbished over the years, with much of the work performed by the seller and fine-tuning performed by a mechanic in 2011. Highlights include bead-blasting many components, a professional repaint in Florida Green over Old English White, a redone beige interior, and rebuilding the 2.9-liter inline-six. Power is sent through a four-speed manual gearbox with rebuilt overdrive. Approximately 8k miles have been added by the seller. This Healey is now offered with a partial list of professional mechanical work, a tonneau cover, and a clean North Carolina title in the seller’s name.

According to the seller, he personally bead-blasted many of this BT7’s components and replaced items that weren’t salvageable. Nunley’s Frame & Body of Greensboro, North Carolina reportedly completed the required bodywork and refinished the car. Chrome and brightwork were also redone. PL700 headlamps with relays are equipped, and a beige replacement soft top was fitted over a new frame.

This car sits on Denis Welch Motorsport rear springs and Putzke’s Fahrspass shock absorbers. Chromed 15″ 60-spoke knock-off wire wheels were added by the seller and are mounted with Lexington tires. A full-size painted wire wheel on a Lexington tire is contained in the trunk.

During the refresh the interior was fitted with beige upholstery from Heritage Upholstery, which features green piping. New dark green carpeting was also fitted, although the seller notes burn marks from the installer’s light.

A Kenwood CD player is mounted underneath the Smiths heater box and it is wired to stereo speakers in the front footwells. Factory Smiths gauges have been refurbished and show 91k indicated miles. Approximately 8k miles were driven by the seller, although true mileage is unknown.

The 2,912cc inline-six was reportedly rebuilt by the seller and breathes through twin SU carburetors. It sends power rearward through a four-speed manual gearbox with a rebuilt overdrive unit. The seller states that the car runs a gear-reduction starter and a negative-ground 12-volt electrical system with an alternator.

A two-page document from mechanic Allen Hendrix of Greensboro, North Carolina lists a series of items that he addressed for the seller in 2011. Most other mechanical work reportedly was done by the seller.

The floorboards have been replaced, and Dynamat insulation was added to the engine bay and underbody.
