This 1960 Austin-Healey 3000 is a left-hand-drive Mk I BT7 four-seat model that is said to have been refurbished shortly before the seller’s acquisition in 2020. The car is finished in red over black leather and is powered by a 2.9-liter inline-six mated to a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Equipment includes a removable black soft top, dual SU carburetors, black 15″ knock-off wire wheels, auxiliary driving lights, and a side-exit exhaust system. This BT7 is offered with removable side curtains, a black tonneau, service records, manufacturer’s literature, a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate, and a clean Colorado title in the seller’s name.
Finished from the factory in Healey Blue, the car was repainted red in 2020 by Sports Car Craftsmen of Arvada, Colorado. The bumpers have been removed, and exterior details include chrome rear bumperettes, auxiliary driving lights, and a driver-side fender-mounted mirror. A removable black soft top, side curtains, and a tonneau cover are included in the sale along with a pair of chrome bumpers.
Black 15″ wire wheels are secured via chrome two-eared knock-offs and wear 165SR15 Michelin XZX tires, while a matching spare is housed in the trunk. Braking is provided by discs up front and drums in the rear.
The 2+2 cockpit features black leather seat upholstery with a color-coordinated dashboard and door panels. Amenities include a heater, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, a passenger grab handle, front lap belts, a passenger-side parcel shelf, and black carpeting with Austin-branded rubber heel mats.
A wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation that includes a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 11k miles, and total mileage is unknown.
The 2.9-liter inline-six features dual SU carburetors and was reportedly overhauled in 2020 by Ax and Allies Automotive of Denver, Colorado.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive.
The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust lists factory colors, equipment, and serial numbers along with the build date and destination.
