This 1954 Austin-Healey 100 BN1 roadster was built in July 1954 and dispatched to the United States, and it reportedly was refurbished around 2010 before being acquired by the seller in 2016. A replacement 2.7-liter inline-four is paired with a three-speed manual transmission with overdrive, and the car has been repainted in green over tan upholstery with black piping. Features include dual SU carburetors, 15″ wire wheels, a tan tonneau cover, headlamp stone guards, a banjo-style steering wheel, and lap belts. This Healey is now offered with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, the removed engine, an owner’s manual, an unused beige convertible top and frame, a car cover, a tool kit, and a North Carolina title in the seller’s name.

Finished from the factory in Ice Blue, the car is said to have been repainted in a color described by the seller as Spruce Green under prior ownership around 2010. Equipment includes a beige tonneau cover, an adjustable windshield, headlamp stone guards, a single exhaust outlet, and chrome bumpers with overriders. An unused beige convertible top and frame will accompany the vehicle.

Silver-painted 15″ knock-off wire wheels are mounted with 165/80 Nexen SB-802 tires. Braking is handled by drums at each corner.

The bucket seats are trimmed in tan upholstery with black piping. Interior appointments include a black dashboard, lap belts, a cabin heater, a passenger grab handle, door-panel pockets, and a dash-mounted rearview mirror.

The banjo-style steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 66k miles, approximately 6k of which were added under current ownership.

The replacement 2.7-liter inline-four is said to have been installed in 2010 by the previous owner. An aluminum oil pan was fitted in June 2024.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed manual transmission teamed with a Laycock de Normanville overdrive unit.

The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate lists a manufacture date of July 21, 1954, along with factory colors, options, and serial numbers.

The replacement information plaque lists the car number as BNL159471, whereas the number cited on the North Carolina title is BN1L159471, which aligns with what is noted on the BMIHT certificate.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
