This 1955 Austin-Healey 100 BN1 roadster was built on December 23, 1954 and initially delivered to Germany, where it was purchased new by a US servicemember. After bringing the car stateside, it was involved in an accident and was parked for several decades before being acquired by Lynn Martin of Forever Healeys, who carried out a rotisserie restoration around 2019. The car is powered by a 2.7-liter inline-four paired with a three-speed manual transmission and is finished in red over black vinyl upholstery. Equipment includes a removable black soft top, 15″ knock-off wire wheels, a tonneau cover, removable side curtains, and a cabin heater. It achieved gold level certification by the Austin-Healey Concours Registry in September 2021 and was purchased by the current owner the following year. This 100 is now offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate, the owner’s manual, spare parts, a car cover, a Concours registry certificate, Concours inspection forms, and a clean Minnesota title in the owner’s name.

The car was finished from the factory in Carmine Red and was stripped to bare metal, mounted to a rotisserie, and repainted during the restoration. Features include a removable black soft top, a tonneau cover, an adjustable windshield, removable side curtains, chrome bumpers with overriders, and a single exhaust outlet.

The 15″ silver-finished knock-off wire wheels are mounted with 165HR15 Vredestein tires, and braking is handled by drums at each corner.

The bucket seats are trimmed in black vinyl with red piping, and interior appointments include a cabin heater, a passenger grab handle, lap belts, and door pockets.

The banjo-style steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The speedometer was replaced during the restoration, and the current five-digit odometer shows 5,900 miles, approximately 200 of which were added by the owner. The removed speedometer showing 5,700 miles accompanies the vehicle and is viewable in the gallery.

The 2.7-liter inline-four featured dual SU carburetors from the factory for a rating of 90 horsepower and 150 lb-ft of torque.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed manual transmission with overdrive.

Photos from various stages of the restoration are provided in the gallery.

The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate lists the factory colors and serial numbers along with delivery to Dusseldorf, Germany.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
