    For sale on ebay: cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1958-Austin-Healey-100-6-BN4-/160843819851

Up for auction is my 1958 Austin Healey 100-6, 4 seat, convertible. The car has an approximately 8 year old blue with silver cove paint job which has held up very well. It was not a concours paint job, but from 8 feet it looks very good with only a few normal chips from the past 8 years. The only chip of any significance is on the trunk lid lower left edge and one of the pictures will show it. The gaps on the doors and hood are very good, the trunk lid could use some adjustment.
During the past 4 years the entire interior has been replaced with a Moss Motors blue interior and new black carpets. The steering wheel is a nice wooden Moto Lita wheel that looks great. The dash is in excellent shape as is the windshield glass. The car has a, very expensive, new 4 year old blue "Everfast" canvas top from Moss with a clear back window and new side curtains and it fits perfectly. The gauges all work as does the horn. The speedo was rebuilt 4 years ago and shows about 2,800 miles. The overdrive is working properly.
Five new, Vredestein tires were installed approximately 2,300 miles ago and are like new on painted silver wire wheels.
In 2008 the old owner spent $31,033.04 on a restoration and rebuild of virtually all the mechanical parts of the car. British Car Specialists of Stockton, Calif., owned by nationally recognized Don Nock, did all the work .
The following is a partial list of what was done:
New clutch and lightweight flywheel, including rebuilt clutch master cylinder hydraulics. Replaced steering box assembly and all new wiring harness . New seals in transmission and replaced transmission main shaft. New brakes all around with replacement master cylinder. It has a new radiator core and runs cool. New gas tank and fuel pump. The rear suspension has been replaced with a new Bilstein shocks and new rear springs.
The car has a completely new exhaust system with new headers installed. The car has had all the normal maintenance done on schedule, fluids, lub, points, plugs etc. It has a new battery just this week. The floor boards have all been replaced as have the foot wells. The rusty passenger foot well was replaced from inside and the old rusty footwell was not cut out for some reason. You can pull up the carpet and see the new foot well metal. All records of these expenses will come with the car.
The only rusty part of the car remaining is the rear part of the trunk floor which has 3 small holes in the bottom. It is not structural, but included with the car is a new rear trunk floor from Moss Motors that can easily be installed.
WHAT DOES THIS CAR NEED? At this time it needs nothing if you want a reliable, solid "driver" which runs strong and can win the "People's Choice" award at local car shows. If you want a $65,000 "Best In Show" award winner I would give the car a completely new Healey Blue and Silver paint job and think about rechromeing the bumpers.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
