Car offered at:
www.wholesalecalifornia.com/html11/64_bj8.html
Sellers description:
1964 Austin Healy BJ8
This beautifully restored BJ8 is the recipient of a completely disassembled ground up restoration with over 60,000.00 in receipts, no expense was spared. The new paint, chrome and interior show beautifully on the car with straight sides on the body and a nice fit and finish of the components the car has an authentic appeal. The rebuilt motor and transmission have all been professionally restored and authentically detailed giving the car a nice factory presentation under the hood and strong smooth power transfer through the gears. This Healey is ready to be enjoyed now and for many years to come with the documented comprehensive restoration recently finished and the matching heritage certificate this is another Californian collector quality example.

Not sold at Mecum Monterey 2011.
Lot # S195 1964 Austin-Healey 3000 Mk III Phase 2 Convertible; S/N HBJ8L25453; Red/Black; Recent restoration, 2 condition; Not sold at Hammer bid of $45,000 -- Overdrive, chrome wire wheels, fender mirrors. Excellent paint, chrome and interior. Crack by hood vent and small touched up stone chip. Otherwise like new and documented with its BMIHT Heritage Certificate. It's not surprising the seller didn't let go for this bargain basement bid. This is a $60,000 car even with its flaws.
