This superb late entered 1965 Austin Healey 3000 MkIII is still in its original left hand drive format and it is of course the more desirable BJ8 version.

The bodywork is painted in British Racing Green and it has the Black interior trim and hood and the overdrive gearbox. It is currently tested until December this year and has the exempt vehicle excise duty until January next year.

It comes with a heritage certificate, wire wheels, a heater and the adjustable steering wheel and the certificate confirms that it has been changed from a Red to a Green car. We are informed that there is no welding in evidence and that it is a good driving car and very reliable.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
