For sale on e-bay: cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/
Offered for sale is beautiful, strong-running 1967 Austin Healey 3000 Mark III BJ8 Phase Two finished in desirable British Racing Green over Black. The "Big Healeys" are considered by many to be the ideal classic weekend car, a true British open sports car that is powerful and visceral to drive while being just modern enough to drive comfortably. This car fits that description perfectly. The paint cleans up nicely with just a few minor flaws here and there, the chrome is in good original condition and the body is straight and sound with excellent panel fits. The wire wheels are in great original shape and are wrapped in tires with plenty of remaining tread. It's a car that has received steady use and exhibits a wonderful, consistent amount of patina, a driver's example that needn't be trailered to and from events, but enjoyed on the road, where it was meant to be.
The patina carries over to the car's interior that is original with the exception of some replacement vinyl panels where 45 years worth of gentle use took it's toll. The seats, dash carpets and interior panels are all presentable and the while the wood dash-inlay is cracked in multiple places, replacement inlays are easily purchasable through Moss Motors. The tan soft-top compliments the exterior nicely, free of tears or wear throughout, and the boot cover is flawless.
Mechanically the car is in excellent condition, having just received a thorough going over to ensure that it runs and drives strongly and stops safely. Service to the brakes included new wheel cylinders and shoes, as well as a new power booster. The car starts easily, idles consistently and pulls strongly and smoothly though each of the gears. Also, while the car was up on the lift we inspected the undercarriage and found it to be free of rust or rust-repair with a perfectly straight frame and no evidence of accidents. This is truly a beautiful, very original BJ8 that its next owner will enjoy for years to come as is or could be the perfect platform for a comprehensive restoration to show quality. It's an honest car with all the right things going for it .
