    Auction description:

    1967 AUSTIN-HEALEY 3000 MARK III BJ8Style

    VIN HBJ8L41692

    Exterior Color OPALINE

    Interior Color BISCUIT

    Cylinders 6 Size 3000CC

    Transmission 4-SPEED MANUAL

This Opaline Green 1967 Austin-Healey 3000 Mark III BJ8 convertible is a matching-numbers car corroborated by the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate #20067481 issued January 17, 2006, with a date of build of June 21-22, 1967. It received a ground-up, nut-and-bolt restoration from 2005 to 2012 and was subsequently appraised by an independent appraiser, receiving a 100-point condition #1 rating. The color was a tribute to Donald Healey's Opaline Green Westland Healey he brought to the U.S. and toured across the country in 1948. The interior is English Connolly Biscuit leather with dark green accent piping and matching Wilton wool dark green carpet with coordinating soft-cloth top, boot and tonneau cover, all from Heritage Upholstery. It has 72-spoke chrome wheels with Vredestein tires. In December 2012, it appeared on the cover of Hemmings Sports & Exotic Car magazine, which included an article on the restoration process and photos. This Healey has been kept in a climate-controlled environment since restoration and the current owner has driven it approximately 1,322 miles since purchase in 2019. In 2022, the car was refreshed by Lynn Martin of Forever Healeys in Post Falls, ID, subsequently awarded Best in Show in Gig Harbor, WA, and a new speedometer/odometer was installed by Lynn Martin in 2023. A documentation binder with photos and receipts is included with the sale.
