This 1961 Austin-Healey 3000 is a four-seat roadster that is finished in two-tone red and white over a black vinyl interior and is powered by a 2.9-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Equipment includes triple SU carburetors, a black soft top, chrome bumpers, 15″ wire wheels, and a heater. The selling dealer acquired the car in 2020, and subsequent service is said to have included rebuilding the carburetors, changing the fluids, and replacing the ignition components, fuel lines, fuel tank, and brake master cylinder. This BT7 is now offered with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate and a clean Arizona title in the name of the seller’s LLC.

The body was refinished in two-tone red and white during previous ownership. The seller states that the black soft top is a replacement and that the bumpers, grille, and headlight trim have been re-chromed.

15″ wire wheels wear refinished knockoffs and are wrapped in 165-series Kelly Tires. Braking is from front discs and rear drums, and the calipers are painted to match the body.

The four-place cabin features black vinyl seats with white piping. Refurbishment work is said to have included replacing the carpets and re-covering the dashboard, door panels, and seats. Equipment includes an adjustable steering column, a heater, and chrome interior fittings.

The banjo-style steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and additional gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 1,800 miles, though total mileage is unknown.

Power is provided by a 2.9-liter inline-six, and service since 2020 has reportedly included rebuilding the carburetors, changing the fluids, and replacing the ignition components, fuel lines, fuel tank, and brake master cylinder. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
